PUBLIC NOTICE

2024 ELKTON MUNICIPAL ELECTION

TWO (2) COMMISSIONER SEATS UP FOR ELECTION

The Town of Elkton Board of Supervisors of Elections will hold the 2024 Elkton Municipal Election on Tuesday May 14, 2024 from 7:00 A.M. – 8:00 P.M., at the Elkton Municipal Building, 100 Railroad Avenue, Elkton, Maryland. Two (2) of four Commissioners shall be elected, each to a four (4) year term of office which will expire in June, 2028.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS: DEADLINE TO FILE

A candidate for the office of Mayor or Commissioner must be an Elkton resident who has lived in the town of Elkton for a period of not less than one (1) year preceding the election date and be a citizen of the United States of America. A candidate must be at least 18 years of age and a registered voter in Cecil County. A qualified citizen who wishes to file his or her candidacy for office must do so by not later than 4:00 P.M., Thursday, March 14, 2024.

The Town of Elkton is committed to ensuring that citizens with disabilities are able to participate in public activities, including elections. A citizen who has a disability and who wishes to participate in the 2018 Elkton municipal election process, as a candidate or as a voter, may receive assistance by contacting the Town of Elkton Administration Office.
