Elkton Public Works Matress Disposal

Mattresses must be sealed in a mattress bag for proper disposal.  The Department of Public Works located at 209 Blue Ball Avenue offers free disposable mattress bags available for pick up between the hours of 730 AM - 4 PM Monday - Friday.  Mattress bags are also available for purchase from your local home improvement or moving supply store.  To ensure the safety of waste collection staff, your mattress must be placed in a disposable mattress bag and tightly sealed with packaging tape as seen in the image below. Removal of a discarded mattress must be scheduled in advance by contacting the Department of Public Works at 410-392-6636.
