Town of Elkton Procedures for Electrical Permits & Inspections

Electrical inspections are required for properties within the corporate limits of the Town of Elkton. (Please be advised that not all properties with an "Elkton" address are within the incorporated limits of the Town.)  If you are unsure whether the address where you will be working is within the Town's jurisdiction, please contact the Building Department at (410) 398-4999 to verify that the property is within Town limits.

The inspection agencies listed below have been authorized by the Town of Elkton to provide electrical inspections within the Town limits of Elkton.  Any fees required for permits or inspections must be paid directly to the inspection agency.

Permits must be pulled by the electrical contractor or an authorized representative of the contractor.  Please contact the inspection agency for information regarding their specific procedures with reference to fees, permits and/or inspections:

The Town requires companies providing electrical work to properties within Town limits to hold an electrical license issued by the State of Maryland as well as an electrical license issued by Cecil County.  The State of Maryland may be contacted through their website or by telephone at (410) 230-6321. Cecil County may be contacted through their website or by telephone at (410) 996-5235.
