PUBLIC NOTICE

  

On January 14, 2010, the Town of Elkton's wastewater collection system experienced a failure of the Warner Road force main, resulting in a sewage discharge approximately 1,700 feet west of Muddy Lane in a high voltage transmission line corridor.   Corrective action by Severn Trent Services and the Elkton's Department of Public Works was taken immediately upon the discovery of the force main's failure and resulting discharge to mitigate any further potential impact on the environment and to effect repairs to the force main.    Water quality samples were subsequently taken in the affected area and submitted for testing  to determine the level of bacteria in surface water in this area, including the Big Elk Creek.  Interested persons who may have questions regarding this notice should contact Kimberly Kamp, Assistant Town Administrator, by telephone at (410) 398-0970 or by email at kim.kamp@elkton.org
